I’m sorry this is happening to you. Trying to find the right medication combination is one of the hardest parts of being bipolar, at least in my opinion. It really fucking sucks when you find a medication that really makes a difference for you and you have to stop taking it because of side effects. I would feel lost, too.
I know it’s really hard to try and spin a positive out of a shitty situation, but I’m going to try. There are hundreds of mood management medications out there. Now, that means that it could take a while to find the right one, but that also means that there are lots of possibilities for making a right medication match.
If you like the anticonvulsant mood stabilizers, you could talk to your psychiatrist about trileptal. It’s in the same class of drugs as lamictal and it does the same job. It can cause “the rash” though, so idk how that would go.
I can’t do anything to change your situation, and this may not end up helping, but you aren’t alone in this. We’ve all had to go through a rash (pardon the pun) of medications before finding the right one. It’s an uphill battle, but you’re not the only one fighting it.
Just keep swimming, sweet pea. You’ll get there soon.
