  1. Love it, but just remember to be either objective or subjective. If you are writing about the stigmatization of mental illness, try to impersonally, objectively highlight the reasons it is not okay. If you are writing about your own battle against mental illness as a point about the stigmatization of mental illness, start the op-ed by talking about that, so people aren’t thrown off in the middle. HOWEVER, I thought it was a great, great article that made significant points using personal examples, and I enjoyed reading it.

  2. Offhand, the “abnormal challenge” isn’t normal. In a society (documented lower 48 states of the US Federation) based on fast food an high sugars, it is not diabetes, but “Major Depression”, that is the leading health and wealth depletion. Mental ill-health is the number one health issue, beyond nutrition and other concerns. It has become common, if not normal, to not just be challenged, but to fail to overcome challenges to mental stability.

The method of diagnosis and treatment may be relatively rare, but the pain and suffering are common and, I would say, for the lower 48 (common USA), quite normal.

Thus, I support efforts to make health, rather than illness, normal, widespread, common.
